GENESIS® ANNOUNCES KIRK BIANCHI AS NEW DESIGN FACULTY ADVISOR

(Alexandria, Va.) — GENESIS®, a company of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), is pleased to announce its new Design Faculty Advisor, Kirk Bianchi. Bianchi has been a GENESIS® instructor for five years and currently teaches the Master Designer Methods course.

Bianchi has had a lifelong passion for art, photography, and architecture. He honed his skills during high school and college while working for architecture firms and studying architecture at Arizona State University. Bianchi discovered his gift for pool design when he began in the industry in 1991 and went on to found his own company, WaterScapes by Bianchi Design, in 1999.

In GENESIS® D265: Master Designer Methods: Crafting the Outdoor Space as a Living Art Form, Bianchi shares with students his unique design philosophy that in order to have a fully integrated outdoor living space, one must design the pool last rather than first. D265 is a required course for pool and spa professionals interested in earning a Certified Master Pool Builder & Design Professional (Master CBP) designation.

“I am thrilled to take on this new role as GENESIS® Design Faculty Advisor,” says Bianchi. “I’ve really enjoyed teaching design and seeing students light up as they see how they can integrate the artistic composition principles I’ve distilled from the art and photography worlds. These subjective and hard-to-measure ideals are just as important as the structural aspects of our trade, and relate directly to perfecting our craft on a daily basis. I look forward to working with the rest of the design advisory team to update and expand our design curriculum.”

As a Design Faculty Advisor, Bianchi will work closely with fellow Design Faculty Advisor Feras Irikat and Design Faculty Chair Paul John Boulifard. He will be responsible for strategic contribution, curriculum development, content quality assurance, and faculty recruitment.

“GENESIS® has admired Kirk’s work for over two decades,” says Skip Phillips, Master CBP, Co-Founder of GENESIS®. “He is one of the best, and likely the most innovative and influential designer globally. He absolutely deserves the recognition of Design Faculty Advisor. GENESIS® is extremely fortunate to have him on our team.”
