ANSI Essential Requirements

ANSI does not itself develop standards; rather it facilitates development by providing the structure within which standards can be developed and consensus can be achieved. ANSI’s guiding principles are consensus, due process, and openness, and by approving standards, the Institute verifies that these principles have been followed by standards developers through the accreditation process.
