How long have you been a member of PHTA?
Personally since June 2017, although our company has been a PHTA/APSP member for many years prior to the time I joined the company.
Why did you join PHTA?
To immerse myself in a industry I was new to and because I have always been highly involved in industry boards. I like participating, being involved, supporting!
What committee/council/chapter do you currently volunteer with?
Chapter Leadership Council.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
Connecting with the National Board as well as the other chapter leaders/members across the country and learning/being inspired by them!
What is your current occupation? How long have you been in the pool and hot tub industry?
Vice President Marketing & Operations. 4 years as of June 2021.
What do you love most about the pool and hot tub industry?
The satisfaction that comes with providing our customers with an amenity feature that adds value. We build exclusively within the commercial footprint and the pool is one of the highest rankling selling points/features for our owners/properties.
How do you define success?
Giving and teaching and seeing someone else in turn succeed and prosper!!!
Who inspires you?
My husband. He loves this business and industry and is extremely dedicated to producing pools built per code and with the highest level of passion and integrity.
If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose? Why?
Steven DeFrancis, Chief Executive Officer, Cortland. We have had the opportunity to build for a few of his developments of late and we are greatly impressed at the Cortland model. He has proven and tremendous experience in complex multifamily development and management, specializing in unique development and value-add opportunities.
What’s one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
I learn something new about pools and the industry almost daily, given I am only 4 years in. My passion and curiosity and desire to learn even more only grows each and every time that much more!
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I love horses and riding and for many years was highly involved in giving my volunteer time to a local Hippotherapy program in Atlanta.
What’s the last book you read? Unconditional Parenting. I am 46 with a 5 year old! She is the absolute greatest joy of my life and somedays my greatest challenge!
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Super Jam in Athens, 1993.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Avocado toast with fresh herbs and veggies (+ a really nice glass of champagne)! ??
