Registration Now Open for 2022 World Aquatic Health Conference
(Alexandria, Va.) — The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) is pleased to announce that the 19th Annual World Aquatic Health Conference (WAHC) will take place as an in-person event October 12-14 in Houston, TX. This will be the first in-person WAHC since 2019, allowing pool operators, environmental health officials, service technicians, aquatic managers, and other industry professionals to reconnect, network, and learn.
Over the last two-and-a-half years, the pool and hot tub industry experienced historic growth in the residential market and unique challenges for the commercial segment—each creating the need for water safety education, changing management practices, and an understanding of public health and safety issues related to pools.
WAHC is offering over 35 sessions across five tracks: Water and Air Quality, Facility Management, Codes and Standards, Employee Management and Aquatic Programming, and—new for 2022—Water Safety. PHTA is delighted to partner with the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA) by hosting the 2022 Drowning Prevention Symposium at WAHC. As part of the Symposium, all Water Safety sessions will be presented by NDPA.
“We are honored to partner with PHTA in such an impactful way to support water safety,” says Adam Katchmarchi, Ph.D., Executive Director of NDPA. “WAHC is an industry-leading event that has a long history of delivering high-quality education and networking and NDPA is excited to bring the most current research and information in water safety to WAHC.”
WAHC attendees can earn up to 9 PHTA CEUs, or 0.9 IACET CEUs. There are also several pre-conference sessions starting October 10, including the PHTA Instructor Assessment School, the Certified Pool & Spa Operator® (CPO) Course, the Certified Pool & Spa Inspector (CPI) Course, and How to Create a Successful Pool Plan Review.
“PHTA is excited to be able to host WAHC in-person again,” says Sabeena Hickman, CAE, President and CEO of PHTA. “With expanded educational sessions, more than 40 subject matter experts, and new programs and resources, WAHC is back and better than ever.”
