(Alexandria, Va.) - The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) announces the release of its diversity, equity, and inclusion statement, as adopted by PHTA’s Board of Directors unanimously during its meeting on November 15, 2021.
“The promotion and retention of a diverse membership is essential to the success of PHTA,” stated PHTA President and CEO Sabeena Hickman, CAE. “Diversity brings to our organization a broader and richer environment, which produces creative thinking and solutions. As such, it is important to demonstrate our commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion to all of our members – and engender this spirit within our member companies.”
PHTA Statement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity is valuing, appreciating, and effectively utilizing the talents of people with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and ethnicities. Individuals have many dimensions that include age, appearance, beliefs, education, ethnic origin, gender, ideas, job classification, personality, physical ability, political views, race, religion, sexual orientation, and more. By developing our skills to manage diversity, we will be able to better serve our members by exposure to the wider range of ideas and perspectives that can be found only in an organization where every individual is valued.
“This value statement solidifies PHTA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion,” stated PHTA Chairman of the Board Andy Levinson. “I encourage our membership to embrace diversity and inclusion as an integral part in nurturing winning workplace cultures throughout our industry.”
