GENESIS® ANNOUNCES PAUL JOHN BOULIFARD AS NEW DESIGN FACULTY ADVISOR

(Alexandria, Va.) – GENESIS®, a company of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), is pleased to announce its new Design Faculty Advisor, Paul John Boulifard. Boulifard, who is an Architect and LEED AP, has been a GENESIS® instructor for over two years and has taught a wide range of design courses both virtually and in-person.

Boulifard holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from the North Carolina State University College of Design, and a Master of Architecture from the Yale University School of Architecture. He has served as an adjunct professor at several notable institutions, including Wesleyan University, Connecticut College, and Watkins College of Art.

With projects ranging from skyscrapers and healthcare facilities to performing arts centers and civic buildings, Boulifard brings a unique perspective to his courses and shares his impressive professional experiences with his students to provide a real-world look at design applications.

One of Boulifard’s most popular GENESIS® courses is D271: Architectural Styles, which is a required course in the PHTA Certified Pool Builder & Design Professional Pathway. This course helps pool builders and designers understand how the pool coordinates with the surrounding structures and landscapes.

As the Architecture Faculty Advisor, Boulifard will be part of the GENESIS® design advisory team and is responsible for strategic contribution, curriculum development, content quality assurance, and faculty recruitment.

“I am humbled to join the GENESIS® faculty team,” says Boulifard. “Architecture is my passion, and such a critical part of the pool build and design process. I look forward to taking on this larger role with GENESIS®, the leading educational program in the pool, spa, and hot tub industry, and taking their design courses to the next level.”

“Paul John is a treasured member of our faculty and we are so excited that he is increasing his involvement as a Faculty Advisor,” says GENESIS® Design Chair Kate Wiseman, MLA, Sage Outdoor Designs. “He brings an incredible skillset in architecture and design, university-level teaching experience, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture. He is also approachable and a super nice guy, so grab him for a chat over a glass of bourbon—his architectural metaphors alone are worth their weight in gold!”
