GENESIS® ANNOUNCES MARIA MOSCATO AS INTERNATIONAL DESIGN & WELLNESS FACULTY ADVISOR
(Alexandria, Va.) — GENESIS®, a company of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), is pleased to announce its new International Design & Wellness Faculty Advisor, Maria Moscato. Moscato, who is based in Bologna, Italy, has extensive experience in fine arts, architecture, writing and editing, and instructing at the collegiate level.
Moscato earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Visual Arts, as well as two Master of Arts degrees in Architecture and Industrial Arts. She first became involved in the pool and spa industry through her husband, who publishes Piscine Oggi, the premier pool industry publication in Italy that focuses on both residential and commercial pool design, maintenance, and technology. Moscato served as a translator and editor for Piscine Oggi for over 14 years.
In addition to her fine arts background, Moscato recently became a certified building technician in Italy after completing an 800-hour course on all aspects of construction and safety. She is well versed in 3D modeling and design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
“I’m honored to be part of the GENESIS® faculty and have the opportunity to bring new courses and design ideas to the program,” says Moscato. “When people think of design, they think of Italy—whether it be fashion, cars, or architecture. There is something special about Italian design, and I look forward to sharing those design principles with GENESIS® students. I love the profession of teaching and sharing knowledge, a passion I will be able to live out by participating with GENESIS® and PHTA.”
As the International Design & Wellness Faculty Advisor, Moscato will work closely with GENESIS® Design Faculty Chair Paul John Boulifard and Design Faculty Advisors Feras Irikat and Kirk Bianchi. She will be responsible for developing new curriculum and teaching several GENESIS® courses.
“Maria has a wealth of knowledge through her access to amazing European design trends,” says Skip Phillips, Master CBP, Co-Founder of GENESIS®. “Her unique perspective will help GENESIS® elevate its educational offerings to new heights and truly change the trajectory of pool design in the United States. We are thrilled to welcome Maria to the GENESIS® faculty and cannot wait for our students to work with her.”
