CLAFFEY POOLS STEPS UP AGAIN TO FUND DROWNING PREVENTION THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH STEP INTO SWIM
(Southlake, Tx.) – Claffey Pools, a leading luxury pool and spa builder in North Texas, has announced its third annual campaign with Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) dedicated to creating more swimmers through safe swim education. This continued financial support from Claffey Pools is part of the company’s commitment to support the community and helps Step Into Swim invest in the next generation of swimmers through learn-to-swim programming.
This year, Claffey Pools is participating in the Round Up with Rowdy campaign, a new program that allows pool, spa, and hot tub companies to take advantage of point-of-sale fundraising. The Round Up with Rowdy program helps to extend Step Into Swim’s reach, builds industry integrity and engagement, and grows support across the country for creating more swimmers and saving lives.
Round Up with Rowdy was named for Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines, PHTA Vice President of Partnerships and Development, who spearheads Step Into Swim. “I am grateful to Claffey Pools for their continued support and generosity to Step Into Swim,” says Gaines. “Our donors and sponsors are the driving force behind the success of this program. Claffey Pools’ commitment to Step Into Swim allows us to help save lives, promote the benefits of swimming, and serve as an educational resource for water safety in communities where it is most needed.”
The Claffey Pools Round Up with Rowdy campaign includes rounding up each new pool and remodel sold to the next $100, and rounding up each retail ring, service ticket, and maintenance ring to the next $1. The roundup campaign coupled with employee and vendor commitments will result in a donation in excess of $30,000.
“There is no better way to give back to the pool industry than to give to an organization that’s single mission is to prevent drowning,” says Charlie Claffey, President of Claffey Pools and Chair of the PHTA Board of Directors. “The excitement of our team members, the appreciation of our client base, and the unity created by a company-wide effort is really powerful.”
For those ages 1 to 4, learning to swim from a qualified instructor drastically reduces the risk of drowning by 88 percent[1] and is critical in keeping children safer in the water. Claffey Pools shares in Step Into Swim’s mission to combat drowning prevention with access to free swimming lessons and educational resources that empower children to be confident in and around water.
Step Into Swim and its supporters believe that advocating for safe swim practices and teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming are essential to improving the health and safety of our youngest swimmers and their families. Thanks to its growing list of donors, Step Into Swim has gifted more than 300,000 swim lessons since 2012 through YMCAs, Jewish Community Centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and many more. The program is fully funded through donor contributions and 100 percent of donations go directly to educational initiatives and learn-to-swim programming. To learn more, visit www.StepIntoSwim.org.
