The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, spa, and hot tub industry, is issuing a call for participation on the Standards Consensus Committee (SCC), PHTA’s official American National Standards Institute (ANSI) consensus voting body. The SCC is responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool, spa, and hot tub standards to be approved by ANSI.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa industry, announced its support of the SWIM Act, which was introduced to the House of Representatives earlier this month by U.S. Rep. W. Gregory Steube (R-FL-17). H.R. 9298 is a groundbreaking piece of legislation designed to enhance water safety by authorizing basic, lifesaving swim lessons as a qualified expense for Health Savings Accounts (Section 223) and Flexible Savings Accounts (Section 125).

Public review is an important part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards consensus development process.

Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) dedicated to creating more swimmers through safe swim education, is pleased to announce new partnerships with key program supporters CamerEye, Periodic Products, Inc., and Pool Shark H2O. A review and update of information contained in the existing standard will be based on scientific research, verifiable data, and best practices for water quality.
