The Vance Gillette Scholarship celebrates the legacy of Vance Gillette, whose unwavering support and dedication played an integral role in the success of GENESIS®. Beyond his contributions to GENESIS® and the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), Vance profoundly impacted the lives and careers of countless individuals in the pool and spa industry. Known for his passion for education and mentorship, Vance left a lasting mark on the industry, inspiring others to achieve greatness.

Scholarship Overview
The Vance Gillette Scholarship aims to carry forward his legacy by empowering industry professionals to elevate their careers through education and certification. This annual scholarship awards four PHTA members $2,500 each to use towards GENESIS® education.

This opportunity provides recipients with the chance to:
- Access the best education available in the pool and spa industry.
- Earn advanced certifications to stand out among their peers.
- Pursue professional growth and career success.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for the Vance Gillette Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be employed in the pool and spa industry for at least one year.
- Be new to GENESIS® education, with no prior GENESIS® courses completed.
- Be a PHTA member in good standing.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through a short essay.
- Redeem the scholarship by the end of the calendar year for any GENESIS® course (in-person, virtual, or on-demand).
Judging & Award Process
Applications will be reviewed by the GENESIS® faculty, who will select the winners based on their commitment to education and certification.
- Application Deadline: February 15
- Winners Notified: March 1
- Public Recognition: Winners will be honored at the MasterMind Summit September 23-25, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Vance Gillette, a visionary leader and beloved figure in the pool industry, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. His journey, spanning decades, was a testament to his unwavering dedication, innovative spirit, and infectious enthusiasm.
