Lifeguard Requirements
Overview
Where lifeguard requirements exist, PHTA is concerned about variances that have been granted and about the potential for granting future variances regarding the requirement for lifeguards at public pools. Members of PHTA provide lifeguard service for the safety of the public at public pools. Variances have been granted to hotels, fitness facilities, and condominium associations in some cases. We believe these variances diminish safety for the public and reduce employment and business opportunities for PHTA members.
